Caring for Your Custom Wooden Cutting Boards

Your handcrafted & custom wooden cutting boards are built to last, but it needs a little board care & maintenance to keep it looking beautiful and performing well for years to come.

Charcuterie/Epoxy & Wooden Cutting Boards Care

Do Not Cut on Epoxy Board.
** NEVER Put Wooden Cutting Boards in the Dishwasher or Submerge in Water. **
Do Not Allow Water to Soak Into Wooden Cutting Boards.
Do Not Use in a Microwave, Oven or As A Hot Plate.
Do Not Use Edible Oils to Condition Wooden Cutting Boards (i.e., olive, vegetable or avocado oils).

Cleaning Wooden Cutting Boards

Hand Wash Both Sides of Wooden Cutting Boards Only With Warm Soapy Water.
Wipe Dry With a Towel Immediately and Allow to Fully Dry Vertically.

Storage

Store Wooden Cutting Boards Vertically in a Dry Place With Good Air Circulation.
Avoid Direct Sunlight or Extreme Humidity.

Sanitizing Wooden Cutting Boards (Optional)

To Deodorize or Kill Bacteria on Your Wooden Cutting Boards, Rub With Coarse Salt and Half a Lemon.
Rinse and Dry Cutting Boards Immediately After.

Charcuterie/Wooden Cutting Boards Maintenance

Perform occasional board care & maintenance on your cutting board using the board butter that came with your board. Board butter is available for purchase from the Promethean Woodworks Omaha based online store. Other conditioners may be purchased from local stores.

Board Butter Application

Use a Soft Cloth or Paper Towel to Buff the Board Butter Onto the Wooden Cutting Boards.
Apply the Board Butter to All Sides.
Let the Board Butter Soak In For a Couple Hours.
Wipe Clean.
For Regular Use: Apply a Coat of Board Butter Every 5 Uses.
For Occasional Use: Apply a New Coat Every Couple Months or When the Board Looks Dull and Dry.
